Two of Coway’s flagship water purifiers, the Icon Ice Water Purifier and the Prime Stand Water Purifier, were among those of the company’s products honored at this year’s ‘Energy Winner of the Year’ awards. The Icon Ice Water Purifier earned the ‘Energy Grand Prize’, while the Prime Stand Water Purifier received the ‘Energy Saving Award’.

The Icon Ice Water Purifier is equipped with cutting-edge energy-saving technologies, including a high-efficiency ice evaporator, a sealed cold-water system and a high-density instant hot water system. These innovations come together to reduce annual energy costs by approximately 20% when compared to previous models. This model’s high-efficiency ice evaporator optimizes refrigerant flow to shorten ice-making cycles and lower energy consumption, while its advanced instant hot water technology increases thermal efficiency by 30%, thus drastically reducing preheating time. Consumers can also customize their hot water temperatures in 5°C increments from 45°C to 100°C, enhancing convenience while simultaneously maximizing their energy savings.

Designed for environments with high rates of use such as public facilities, the Prime Stand Water Purifier is capable of achieving remarkable energy efficiency despite its large capacity. This model incorporates an energy-saving control system designed specifically for larger-scale water purification. It also features a Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) inverter compressor, vacuum insulation materials and idle power-saving technology, making it the most energy-efficient tank-type water purifier in Coway’s lineup.

Coway’s energy-saving expertise also extends to its air purifier and bidet products. Recognizing that the former often operate 24/7, Coway has optimized its air purifiers’ performance to minimize long-term energy usage without compromising on air quality.

The Power-Up Air Purifier, also known as the Airmega ProX in the U.S., is a large-scale model that provides coverage for up to 1,245 square feet and features an improved air purification efficiency of 17% compared to similar models, employing both dual-engine technology and a dual-intake system to maximize energy efficiency. Despite its robust performance, the unit operates at a noise level of just 47dB — a soundscape comparable to that of a library — a technical innovation that earned it the ‘Energy Technology Award’ at this year’s ‘Energy Winner of the Year’ awards.

Meanwhile, Coway’s Self-Care Bidet incorporates a hybrid water tank that consolidates the benefits of both tank-based and instant hot water systems. By heating water only when needed, this technology reduces monthly energy consumption by up to 20% when compared to traditional tank-based systems.
