Coway, the "Best Life Solution Company," is committed to advancing its corporate social responsibility (CSR) by consistently championing both environmental preservation and social equity. Rather than viewing its corporate citizenship through any singular lens, Coway aims to address a diverse range of societal needs through distinct, dedicated initiatives.

This June, Coway helped enable positive transformation across communities in the company’s native South Korea via a dual approach: protective environmental stewardship and proactive social inclusion. From revitalizing local waterways to championing indoor health equity and promoting inclusion for disabled individuals, Coway’s ongoing CSR campaigns exemplify its dedication to building a healthier, more harmonious future.

Environmental sustainability at Coway is not just some passive corporate mandate, but instead is an active, shared endeavor that engages employees, local communities and future generations in an effort to bring about real change. One such example of this philosophy is the Coway River Plogging Campaign, which marks its fifth consecutive year of activity in 2026.

This campaign, in which both company employees and consumers alike are able to participate, blends health-conscious walking and jogging with hands-on environmental cleanup along local rivers and coastal areas. By combining jogging or walking along waterways with trash collection, the program aims to preserve the health of our rivers and oceans while fostering a culture of simple acts of environmental stewardship in everyday life.

This year’s campaign drew 460 participants, propelling the campaign’s total number of contributors across the past five years to an impressive 6,800. For 2026, Coway also expanded the scope of the program’s involvement to local running crews, daycare centers and even newcomers to the Coway R&D Center in order to help clean up the areas surrounding its operating sites in Seoul, South Korea.

Ensuring Health Equity for Vulnerable Households

Coway understands that true social accountability means ensuring that all the fundamental pillars of health – including clean indoor air – are accessible to all. In line with this pledge, Coway officially renewed its commitment to the ‘Indoor Environmental Improvement for Vulnerable Groups’ agreement, as organized by the South Korean Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment.

This public-private joint agreement unites government forces with major domestic companies in order to create a collaborative framework aimed at installing environmental safety nets for the most vulnerable in society. This year, Coway was proud to stand alongside 16 other participating companies, marking its ninth consecutive year of unwavering participation since 2018.

For the past nine years, Coway has been providing its state-of-the-art air purifiers alongside complimentary filter replacement and expert maintenance services to help realize the agreement’s goals. To date, Coway has supplied a total of 147 air purifiers to households in need across South Korea, a contribution that previously earned the company the prestigious Minister of Climate, Energy and Environment Citation. Furthermore, Coway has been extending this support to local youth facilities and schools, subsequently having donated over 500 air purifiers as of 2025.

Fostering Social Harmony Through Music

Alongside ecological stewardship, Coway’s CSR vision also embraces the core tenets of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). This commitment was beautifully underscored on June 23, when the Coway Mulbit Choir, a professional choir of visually impaired vocalists, staged its third annual regular concert in Seoul.

Held under the title ‘The June We Loved’, this free-of-charge performance drew a packed auditorium of over 650 attendees made up of local residents, Coway employees and their families. In a break from traditional choral practice, the second half of the concert transformed into a musical drama, with the immersive narrative even having some of the choir members themselves perform as actors onstage to deliver powerful messages of nostalgia, shared comfort and the unifying power of empathy to their captivated audience.

Redefining the Corporate Journey Toward Sustainable Wellness

By actively addressing environmental restoration, health equity and excellence in diversity through dedicated, parallel tracks, Coway is charting its own distinct path for CSR excellence. The wide range of activities, achievements and activations undertaken by Coway this June showcase how, when corporate capacity and commitment align with community needs, the resulting impact can truly help transform society.
